Silver Pocket Watch and Case Assemblage Reliquary Necklace - $295.00

This truly inspired pocket watch necklace combines an amazing collection of components. The pocket watch case that serves as the "container" for this reliquary of found objects is made out of Sterling Silver and is aged to a velvety patina. Please take a moment to appreciate the ribbed bezel, the large silver bow and the 18k gold crown on the winding stem. This is a stunningly beautiful antique pocket watch case.

Inside this striking case is an antique pocket watch etched in one portion with gorgeous script and large gold gears. Mounted to the pocket watch are two dome shaped genuine garnets and a single genuine Carnelian gemstone. Inside the case you will also find an antique Frozen Charlotte German bisque doll head that was surreptitiously separated from the figurine's body. These unique Frozen Charlotte figurines were created in the 1850's to early 1900's in various German factories out of bisque (white or off-white) ceramic clay. They continue to be unearthed from the grounds surrounding these factories, both whole and in parts, and evidence of their time in the ground can be seen in the markings and colorings lingering on the surfaces of the figure. The figurines and even the varied pieces remain a coveted and striking relic of a vintage era and this exquisite hand-recovered example is no exception.

Mounted next to the ceramic head is an antique pocket watch winding stem with a large 18k gold crown. The winding stem is gorgeous enough to use to create jewelry by itself, and is perfect echo of the Sterling Silver case with its own gold crown. Mounted near the bottom is a vintage copper spider finding. It is obvious that the pocket watch case serves as the spider's private lair while he protects the found objects and semi precious stones inside that he's stashed away. He keeps everything safely tucked away within the pocket watch under the case's original crystal.

The pocket watch case measures approximately 2-3/4 inches high by 2-1/4 inches wide. The silver plated double link chain measures approximately 20 inches and closes with a silver lobster claw clasp. An exceptional and detailed original piece that will give you pleasure every time you wear it.
